Carers Project

The Carers Project aims to help and support 'informal carers' ie  someone who, without payment looks after a spouse, partner, relative, friend or neighbour who, because of a disability, illness or the effects of old age, cannot manage at home without help. The term carer does not include someone who gets payment for the care they provide or who volunteer on behalf of a charitable organisation.

The Carers Project is responsible for:

• Administering and supporting Carers Voice Northamptonshire.
• Validating and updating the Carers Directory - a countywide directory of services for carers
• Maintaining records for a carers consultation database
• Preparing a weekly email bullletin of topics relevant to carers
• Responding to enquiries about caring issues
